How to Plan a Luxury Morocco Itinerary

Seven to ten days is the sweet spot for a first, well-rounded trip: enough to combine an imperial city, the High Atlas and a night in the desert without rushing. Five days suits a focused city-and-desert escape; two weeks lets you add the coast, a second city, or simply slow down.

A favourite flow: begin in Marrakech (three nights) for the medina, palaces and gardens; drive over the Atlas to the desert with a night in a luxury Sahara camp; return via the Dades or Todra gorges and the kasbahs of Ouarzazate. Add Fès for craft and history, or Essaouira for Atlantic air, depending on your taste.
